Can a non profit youth sports program deny a child participation due to non-payment of fees?

April 27, 2010 - 3:13 pm 1 Comment

Probably so, even non-profit organizations need funds to function. If fees are due, then it’s not really fair for the ones who don’t pay to still get to play with the ones who do…

I’ve always been into sports and fitness, but I’m looking to put on a lot of muscle for spring.?

I don’t want to take that weight gain stuff with all the sugar. And I realize you can only put on so much healthy weight within a given time. That said, if I desire to also maintain cardio and a low body fat, what "safe" and legal supplements are out there that might significantly help me put on some size?

Some stuff I take
1) Multivitamin (Centrum)
2) Fish Oil/Flaxseed Oil
3) Whey Protein (Optimum Nutrtion)
4) Creatine (Green Bulge by Creative Labs)
5) NO2 (White Flood by Creative Labs)
6) Amino Acids (Purple Wrath by Creative Labs)

What is the Best Sports Town To Host A Pro Team?

April 27, 2010 - 3:13 pm 3 Comments

What’s the best town to host a major professional sports team? What town has the fan support, the history, the tradition and all the other things that make a great sports town? What city is the GREATEST home for a professional sports team*

*Major professional sports team= NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL.

NO LISTS! I want ONE town that stands out and a reason! Lists are such a cop out as an answer!

My question is basically what’s the best sports town? It doesn’t have to have host all four major league pro sporting leagues. I just want to hear about the towns.

Chicago

Will Temple University sports programs ever be considered for re-admission to the Big East Conference?

April 27, 2010 - 3:13 pm 2 Comments

HAHAHA at the rate they are going? They will be lucky if the Independents don’t somehow kick them out of that as well. If they suddenly became a REAL sports program and that lasted a few years then yeah the Big East would forget the hard feelings(that are really more about Miami and Virgina Tech then Temple).

is it possible for a college sports team to have non-students on their roster?

April 27, 2010 - 3:13 pm 4 Comments

according to a recent article in yahoo sports by dan wetzel after villanova’s win over pitt, some schools have athletes that are not students. is it true? how does it happen with NCAA guidelines?

According to NCAA eligibility rules, you must be a student in order to compete in NCAA athletics. It is possible for some players who were either redshirted or just weren’t in athletics as a freshman, to have more years of eligibility left following graduation. If they want to continue to play, they must continue to take classes while they are playing. This isn’t really much of an issue, since I’m sure most schools will include extra classes in a players scholarship, should they be a good player and want them to keep playing.

A way to legitimize gambling in sports?

April 27, 2010 - 3:13 pm 1 Comment

If you were a commisioner of a major sports league (such as the NFL or NBA), would you allow coaches and players from your own league to bet on games if their winnings went exclusively to charity? I thought about this while reading an article on foxsports.com.

don’t gamble. it is bad for your health.
