What sports are good before joining a military branch?

December 11, 2010 - 2:39 am 6 Comments

So you probably know from my questions, I want to be in the Marines. I use to play sports, football for 2 years. Then I quit. Should I sign up for football again? I wanna get in shape. Another sport I wanna try out is Karate. I never tried it but it looks really fun. But i dont know if its a sport. And wrestling, I hate it. Never liked it. So which do you think is bettar, Football or Karate?

Both would be good in physical conditioning. I would say the ideal would be karate with maybe cross-country or track with a good regiment of weight lifting. I imagine this would put you in perfect cardiovascular and strength condition, and karate would offer mental discipline and attentiveness.

Is there a college/university in Louisiana that offers a sports medicine program?

December 8, 2010 - 11:16 pm 1 Comment

I want to be a sports medicine physician when I get out of high school and college and I can not find a university in Louisiana that offers a program. I was looking at ivy league colleges, like Harvard, but it’s soooo expensive.

Information is below.

KEVA Sports Center Question, please answer only if you know.?

December 7, 2010 - 2:39 am 1 Comment

Ok, so I have a team registered at KEVA Sports Center. It is an indoor soccer team. I have not made my own team before, I am not 18 nor is anybody on the team. Do we need a parent or "coach" at each game before we can play? or is that not an active rule?

This is what I know……
If I were to put a team together the first thing I would do is to get in touch with the office of KEVA and ask for a Rule Book.
Putting a team of "Under 18s" in KEVA Sports Center’s leagues would require more answers than for the two questions you ask about.
Let’s say you are the coach. But the rule book says the coach has to be 18 or 21 or whatever. So that lets you out as coach.
The parent speaks for itself. Any one of your players may have their parent present.
You have to remember that the age thing would be for "insurance" purposes in case someone gets hurt.
Good luck with your team and hope some of this has been helpful.

Is it hard to get into community college sports?

December 5, 2010 - 3:47 am 1 Comment

I am moving next semester and am starting at a new community college and was thinking about playing soccer. I played in middle school and play for fun with my friends, but I didn’t play in high school. Since I won’t know anyone where I am moving I thought playing a sport in college would be a fun way to make friends. Is it very competitive to get into? The school I am going to offers classes for intercollegiate soccer and I believe they are open to anyone, but am not sure. Any information would be helpful. Thanks!

What you want to do is go to the college’s website and find the Soccer Coach’s e-mail address and write him/her and tell them your plan to attend their school. And find out if they are looking for players. They will tell you if they are (usually they are looking for players for most sports) and what you have to do to try out for the team.

It’s that simple to find out if they need players.

Good luck.

What is the best sports movie of the following sports and why?

November 30, 2010 - 11:32 am 2 Comments

You can only pick one sports movie from each of the following sports. The sports are baseball, basketball, football, hockey and soccer. Which of these sports, one of these will be the most of all the sports, that will be seen in movies. But please tell me why you pick the movies as either the best baseball movie, basketball movie, football movie, hockey movie, and soccer movie.

Rookie Of The Year-baseball–I thought this movie was awesome and funny
Longest Yard with Adam Sandler-football-also hilarious
The Mighty Ducks-Hockey-hilarious
Bend It Like Beckham-soccer-very well made
Glory Road-Basketball-very emotional and yet a true story

What race dominates more sports, considering every single professional and Olympic sport?

November 27, 2010 - 1:32 pm 5 Comments

We often hear from other homies or liberals that we dominate sports (African Americans) , but guys i had a long conversation last night which opened my eyes . Other than basketball, some positions in American football and some running events , what other sports do we dominate massively? There are so many sports, hundreds probably, how did this propaganda started? Aren’t whites a minority worldwide, so how do they dominate all these sports and none talks about it?

A good 80% of sports worldwide are white dominated and Olympics is the proof, so the whole black domination sports thing it can’t be nothing more than a joke or stereotype!

I want to take Sports Psychology in university, what high school courses do I need?

November 24, 2010 - 11:16 am 1 Comment

I want to take Sports Psychology in university, i was wondering if anyone knows what courses I need.
I don’t know if it matters but I plan on going to a Canadian University.

If you want to take that you probably just need 4U english and 4 or 5 other 4U/M courses depending on what province you’re in. An exercise science may help but I’m not sure. I may have heard that you have to get your undergrad BsC in Psychology then go to grad school and get your masters in Sports Psychology.

What is the best Australian university for sports?

November 22, 2010 - 5:31 pm 1 Comment

I am thinking of going to university in Australia for an undergraduate degree.
I would like to study physiotherapy or exercise and sport science.

My decision will be a bit based on the sporting outlook and area of the university I decide to apply for.
Which universities are best for sports? (Soccer, Aussie Rules)
I know University of Newcastle has a Gaelic football team are there any other universities like this?
What are the best areas in Australia near a university with professional clubs? (Hyundai A-League, AFL)

Thanks.

University of Wollongong is by far considered one of the best universities to go to purely because of its sports.
Academically, it isn’t as renowned or on par with other top universities, but the students choose it for the lifestyle. It’s facilities are excellent and abundant, it’s close to the beach, the blue mountains….basically every type of sport is accessible if you go there.
However, since you might want to study sport science, because of the no. students who pick UWollongong because of its sports environment, the university is actually well known in that area, and produces some of the best graduates.
University of Newcastle is pretty bogan; but that means yeah, it has quite a few sporty AFL, rugby players.

how hard is it to get into university varsity sports team?

I want to get into women’s soccer at university in Canada
How hard is it to get in?
I made into highschool junior and senior teams but thats jokesssss
I never tried for town/city stuff

can someone who has experienced
tell me bit about university sports team
which school is the best
thx

About the first part:
You have to be very good.
My friend got on a remotely small sized school’s team and she was the second top shooter in the state. A guy who graduated from my school was the top goalie in the state, and he made a University team, but he still hardly played.
You have to be exceptional due to the other people going for those spots, as well.
