When gambling sports what does +185 mean? How do you explain the point system in gambling like that?

March 12, 2010 - 10:20 am 1 Comment

I want to bet on team winning it all next year but, the odds are as follows— +185 or +425 can you explain that too mean….Thanks!
to me, not mean…..lol

+185 refers to the moneyline – if you take away the pointspread you bet on either team or person if its an individual sport/event that they win straight up

-250 or any minus number is how much you bet on the favorite to win 100.00 dollars

+185 is betting the underdog and how much you WIN for betting 100.00 dollars

all moneylines refer to based on risking 100.00 so if you see favorite at -1100 they are a BIG favorite and you must risk 1100.00 just to win 100 bucks so its a bad bet – if you see underdog at +900 its what you win for risking just 100.00 so its a real longshot underdog

Craps and sports gambling in Las Vegas?

March 10, 2010 - 12:18 pm 5 Comments

1) How does the casino differentiate your chips from an opponent’s in craps? I know that a player has to stand in one place, but aren’t the chips all the same color?

2) Which casino in Las Vegas has the highest maximum bets for all the table games?

3) Are baseball games more difficult to predict than football? What tips can you give about betting on baseball?

I craps, your chips are the same color as other players chips. We identify your bets by your position around the table. We regularly allow up to 8 customers on each side, but in extreme cases I have had as many as 10. Your bets are positioned to correspond to your position around the table. Feel free to ask the dealer where your bets are and he will indicate your position.

High-limit: Wynn, Belagio, and Venetian offer games with $10,000 limits. MGM Grand often has a $15,000 limit baccarat game. If you make a large deposit in the cashier’s cage you can have a limit that is much higher than that offered to other customers. I have seen customers betting as high as $250,000 a hand.

Binion’s casino no longer welcomes high-rollers.

do you think sports gambling on the internet should be legal?

March 8, 2010 - 11:33 am 5 Comments

Check out this website:

http://www.centsports.com/?opcode=56831

FREE internet gambling – win and cash out real money; lose and pay nothing – all losses paid by advertisements.

If the gambling involves actual money, it is illegal for a minor to participate. This website does not operate like that. They give you 10 cents ‘play’ money to start with. Once you have a balance of ‘play’ money more than $10, they send you an AlertPay transfer dollar for dollar. Or you can trade your ‘play’ money for items. This is possible through the site’s advertisers. You can’t deposit real money into the website, so technically it is not ‘gambling’ if real money is not involved. It is actually illegal to operate a website that allows users to deposit money from a financial institution into an internet gambling account and use that money to gamble online. It has been since 2006, thanks to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

why is sports gambling illegal everywhere except vegas?

why is sports gambling illegal everywhere except vegas?
in the United States

I think it’s more due to the perception of sports betting than anything. But if you make it legal, you can eliminate back alley bookies who don’t pay taxes, anyway! It seems a bit backward to me.
