they said they would check my ID, i gave them my Id number, so is that it, how would they still know if its me and not someone else, would they be checking age?
Yeah they are checking your age to make sure that you are of age to gamble. 18 in most states. And the ID number is how they check it.

When they say that they need to check your ID, they mean they want you to scan and email them a copy of it. Or you can also fax it in.
Most of the time they will want a copy of your ID along with a bill with the matching address. They are checking to make sure you are who you say you are, to prevent fraud.
