How likely is it to get in-state tuition for sports at Indiana University?

I currently live in Illinois, and am planning on attending Indiana University and doing diving there. However, I am worried that tuition will be ridiculous without in-state tuition (23,000). How likely will I get in-state tuition for participating in sports?
Playing sports has nothing to do with in-state tuition. State schools receive most of their funding from the tax payers of the state. Out of state students are not paying to fund the school,and thus have to pay more. If cost is an issue, look at the state schools in Illinois,

Your best bet is to hope that the coaches take note and offer a scholarship to come here. The second thing to do is simply apply and see what happens. I don’t know what your grades/SAT’s are like, but IU has many scholarships and grants available for top students or those with financial needs. Some of the scholarships are specific to certain programs (business, music, etc) so you may want to also consider that when choosing an intended major. At least see what happens, it doesn’t cost that much to apply!
